Time applications on a rolling basis

Description

The Community Pet Fund, hosted by CCCF and Ark-Valley Humane Society helps low-income Chaffee County pet owners access essential veterinary care when financial circumstances make treatment difficult to afford.

We’re seeking community volunteers to join the Community Pet Fund Committee and help guide how limited funds are used to support local pets and their families!

What Committee Members Do

Volunteers work alongside Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF) and Ark-Valley Humane Society (AVHS) staff to:

  • Review veterinary assistance applications using established eligibility criteria.

  • Make fair, thoughtful funding decisions.

  • Help monitor available funds and strengthen the application process.

  • Support community awareness and fundraising efforts.

  • Help ensure the program continues to meet local needs.

Who We’re Looking For

No veterinary or nonprofit experience is required. We’re looking for community members who care about animals, can approach difficult situations with compassion and objectivity, maintain confidentiality, and work collaboratively with others.

Time Commitment

Approximately 2–3 hours per month, including a monthly virtual meeting, application review between meetings, and occasional email or phone communication.

The committee will include CCCF staff, AVHS representatives, and at least five community volunteers.

Committee formation begins October 2026.

Please respond to this need and fill out this form, Quinn will contact you in the meantime!
