We're looking for folks to get trained to take older adults out on trishaw rides for both Salida and BV!
What is a trishaw?
A trishaw is a specially built pedicab with electric assist designed to accommodate the needs of older adults. There are no step-ups to the seat, and the cyclist is behind the passenger, allowing the cyclist to monitor the passenger’s well-being, and easily converse, while offering our passengers unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape during a ride.
The process:
- Contact Aubrey for an application
- Fill out an application and return to Aubrey via mail or email
- After the application is reviewed Aubrey will set up an orientation training that's about an hour with 1-2 other people
- After completing the orientation you're required to practice for at least one hour with riders on your own
- Once you feel ready, you'll schedule a check out ride with Aubrey
- After being checked off, you’ll have access to the spreadsheet to sign up to give rides or can request times to take people out
