The Salida Circus Outreach Foundation (SCOF) is seeking dedicated, community‑minded leaders to join our Board of Directors. Our board supports a vibrant nonprofit that blends circus arts, youth empowerment, community outreach, and the creative sanctuary of the Salida Cirque‑Haus. We are looking for individuals who bring integrity, clarity, and a commitment to strong governance.
About Our Board Structure: SCOF operates with a governance-focused board that provides oversight, strategic direction, and mission alignment—while daily operations remain solely under the authority of the Executive Director. Our board meets monthly for 1.5 hours, with optional subcommittee participation depending on skills and interest. Board members serve as thought partners, stewards of the mission, and protectors of organizational health—not operational managers.
The Board President serves as the board’s leader and partner to the Executive Director, ensuring smooth governance and strong organizational alignment.
Key Responsibilities

Lead monthly board meetings

Communicate with and support the Executive Director (approximately 1–2 hours per week as needed)

Ensure board members are engaged, informed, and aligned

Uphold governance boundaries and reinforce organizational policies

Represent SCOF in select community or partner settings

Help maintain a healthy, mission-focused board culture

Support a structured business approach while working effectively with creative stakeholders
Ideal Qualities
